This is currently implemented in the trunk and will be available in 0.9.
I believe that the one caveat is that the subdirectory can't contain
files copied or moved from another path not contained within the
subdirectory.  This should be sufficient for most people, since it seems
like the common scenario is that people have a single repository with
multiple top-level directories for their projects, each of which should
be self-contained.
