If all of this does not still help you, you might want to run the
recover tool provided with the BDB package: db_recover. (which might
be called db4.2_recover, for a 4.2 BDB release)

First verify that nobody is using svn (Apache or any other accesses).
I think it's safer to copy the BDB files prior to run a recovery - you
never know ;-)

Be sure to try all the other recovery methods before to give a try w/ this one.
