[Trac] Search extension

Hi all,

I'd like to extend the search functionality of the trac wiki.

we are currently using a wikimacro that renders some source code into 
fairly comprehensive documentation which is embedded in wiki pages. 
This all works fine but it is not searchable.

I'd like to extend the search engine such that wikimacros get called 
with a search method and string and can return some result.

How would I go about getting such a change implemented?
