[Trac] Status of Trac and future progress

Hi Trac mailing list,

I've used Trac previously (a few months ago) and worked on it as part  
of a larger project (http://pyre.third-bit.com/trac/hippo), which  
some of you might be familiar with. However I haven't followed the  
mailing list for a couple of months.
In the past week or so I have been thinking about Trac and had some  
ideas for modules that would be interesting (in my opinion) as  
optional components. I remember that some people were working on a  
Pluggable Modules architecture for Trac. My question is how far along  
is that proposal, and in general what are the plans for the next few  
versions of Trac? I am not advocating for either evolutionary  
development or scraping everything for a shiny new architecture, I am  
just interested in what is the general direction in which Trac is  
currently steering.
