ok...
but i still don't have a clue as to how to use 'TracGuideToc' within my
version of trac to create a vertical left menu like 'trac.edgewall.com'.
in reviewing the docs for 'TracGuideToc' i don't have any example that shows
what file this should be included in, nor to i have any example that really
explains/walks through what the attributes are that should be used with the
TracGuideToc macro..
if i had a good example that i could follow, i could start to get a better
understanding of what's going on, and how to accomplish what i'm after!

The trac menue is created with the help of the wiki macro [[TracGuideToc]].
Trac Macros are python scripts that you put in the trac/wikimacro folder
of the trac installation. See WikiMacros in the trac documentation.
