[Trac] Trac trunk and patch #222?

Hi,

I installed Trac at our company, and my project team loves trac. 
However, one of the important features is the e-mail notification and 
ticket owner selection that the patch from ticket #222 introduces.

However, since trac moves on to 0.9, it has changed so much that it is 
impossible for a non-python programmer to apply this patch to the 
current trunk. So my questions are:

What are the plans to introduce the features from patch #222 in the 
current trunk, in particular these features:

  * [notification] always_notify_owner
  * [ticket] restrict_owner
  * extract the user's e-mail address from the session table
    for e-mail notification?

Currently we are stuck with 0.8 because we need that patch.
