You'll need to do a downgrade of database scheme but it will need to
be done by hand since trac-admin don't support this kinda of
operation.

I think you should now continue to use a trunk based version but when
you see it's stable enough for you stop to sync it for a while and
then when 0.9 go out, stay using it before next releases ;-)
