[Trac] Apache 1.3 versus 2 on OS X Server

Hello,

I am using OS X Server, which ships with Apache 1.3. I've gotten most
of the way through installing Trac on this setup, but I read
conflicting arguments from my googling regarding Apache 1.3 support
for Subversion. Is it fact that in order to properly run Trac, you
have to use Apache 2? It seems when these solutions come across, they
are referring to subversion's own http support, and not Trac's. If I
can get away with it, I would rather wait until Apple ships 10.5
server (rumored to come with Apache 2). I built my Trac install
without Fink's help. I'm not opposed to switching to version 2 (I
rather prefer it honestly, but it conflicts with some business needs).

I currently have Trac running, until I click on the Timeline link or
Browse Source. The page says:
SubversionException: ("Can't open file '/path/to/svn/project/format':
Permission denied", 13)

The apache user owns this directory, and just for fun I've chmod
777'd it. But this was without change. Any help?!?

Thanks all,

Todd
